☆Pre-ballet lessons are designed for pre-school students. They are fun, creative and educational. Instructions are given in English.

☆Pre-Ballet 3 students start to use the ballet barre, working on placement. Ballet terminology is introduced and some basic ballet steps are learnt, whilst still having fun. They continue to work on stretching and musicality. These lessons are also instructed in English.

☆Primary class  ☆Junior class  ☆Senior class are all designed for students of elementary school age.

From Senior class point work is introduced.

☆Pre-Advance and Advanced class is designed for junior high school students.

☆SJIBS uses live piano accompaniment in all the lessons.

☆The class description is a guide for students that have been learning ballet from the age of 3. The Director will place the student in the most appropriate class after a trial lesson. The Directors decision is final.

Pre-Ballet

Students must attend lessons once a week. There are 3 levels;

  • PreBallet 1  (3-4 years old)
  • PreBallet 2 (4-5 years old)
  • PreBallet 3 (5-6 years old)

Program

  • SJIBS original pre-ballet curriculum designed by Soraya Jayne.
  • Musical Appreciation.
  • Rhythm.
  • Stretch.
  • Mime and Presentation.
  • Instructions in English.
  • Live piano accompaniment.
  • SJIBS Performance every 2 years.

Primary and Junior

Students are encouraged to attend lessons at least twice per week. Up to four lessons per week are optional. For those students wishing to represent our school in competitions, or for those students who wish to attend workshops or intensive courses nationally and internationally, lessons three times per week are a necessary requirement.

  • SJIBS original and Russian Ballet Society ballet curriculum.
  • Russian Ballet Society Examinations every 2 years.
  • Consistent Terminology.
  • Musical Appreciation.
  • Stretch and Strengthening.
  • Instructions in English (from the international faculty).
  • Live piano accompaniment.
  • SJIBS Performance every 2 years.

Optional from Junior Class

  • Competitions.
  • Russian Ballet Examinations.
  • Contemporary.
  • Workshops.
  • Private lessons.

Senior and Advanced

Students must attend lessons twice per week. Up to six lessons per week are optional. For those students wishing to represent our school in competitions, or for those students who wish to attend workshops or intensive courses nationally and internationally, lessons at least three times per week are a necessary requirement.

Pilates classes

※ Pilates Mat, equipment and water are provided free of charge.

Pilates group mat lesson only. Any level of experience acceptable. The professional teacher can adapt the exercises to suit your abilities.

The class is limited to ten students. Please call the office or email the studio if you wish to reserve a trial lesson.

Ladies Ballet lesson is low impact recommended for beginners or those who have not danced for many years.
